The Bergen County Department of Planning & Economic Development and NJ TRANSIT have jointly initiated a study to look at how Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) can be used to improve the quality and attractiveness of public transit within Bergen County. The Bergen County BRT Implementation Study is considering the best routes and improvements for the implementation of a Bus Rapid Transit system in Bergen County while building upon the current transit system and resources.
Below is a map of the study area in Bergen County.
Initial Potential BRT Routes
The map below shows the initial possible locations for potential Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes within Bergen County based on the preliminary analysis done for the study. Following further analysis and input from stakeholders and the public, NJ TRANSIT and Bergen County will develop more detailed recommendations for a limited set of BRT routes that will move forward into design and future implementation. By attending the public meeting and providing comments, you will be able to provide your input on the selection of routes that move forward.
